FALL FOOD DRIVE

Our sincerest Thanks to all of you who participated and all of you who donated food durring our Fall Food Drive Benefiting the Auburn Food Bank!

This years drive was made more urgent by a recent October break-in and theft at the Food Bank.

PI Reporter Brad Wong writes:

"Burglars hit two Seattle-area food banks this week, making off with about $4,000 worth of frozen meat and an estimated $2,000 worth of computer equipment.

Each crate holds up to 60 pounds of meat, said Joe Tice, the pantry's director. But unless the burglar had a place to store the meat, he added, it probably has thawed and gone to waste...
The stolen meat could have helped families in crisis for about three to four months."

Being hungry is never easy; but compound the financial hardships families face with the constant images of holiday merriment and plenty...and you have a recipe for dispair and disapointment. Please, join us as we try to make a difference.

And don't miss the opportunity to volunteer at the Food Bank durring Winter Break !

We will be Packing and wrapping Holiday Baskets for local families; the event is scheduled for December 19th. Come alone, or bring a friend; but come!
See Melinda Rose or Kathie Marquardt for details.
Plans are being discussed for another Food Drive in the spring.
